AGENDA:

Sexuality, Aging, and Dementia - Jane Fleishman

This topic addresses sexuality in the aging individual with memory impairing disorders.

In the Moment Approaches with Challenging Behaviors - Karen McCarthy, Salmon Health and Retirement & Noreen Shea, Salmon Health & Retirement

This topic addresses the development of skills to enable caregivers to identify root causes or possible triggers that may lead to challenging behaviors in individuals with memory loss.

"Dear Joanni...YOU made a difference!" - Mal Allard, Their Real World

This topic addresses the continuing and/or remaining "normal' aspects of people with memory impairing disorders. The audience will learn how to recognize the original person still right there within their presence.

Am I Invisible? - Mal Allard, Their Real World

This topic addresses the two different worlds that we live in; their world of dementia at any given moment and our world as it is within that same moment. There are two different perceptions, all related to the senses.

Embracing the Journey, - Phyllis DeLaricheliere

A new approach on how we see those diagnosed with dementia.  Holistic tools and strategies will be reviewed that will assist with the most common challenges that caregivers face while caring for a person with dementia.  It will address the stigma of the longest goodbye and provide a new view that is a chance to say “Hello” to a new side of the person being revealed.
